Centennial Ridges Lookout

Algonquin Provincial Park is huge and has lots of camping options. For front country camping they have numerous campgrounds to stay at and many day hike trails to explore. I have gone up for a couple of weekends in 2020 and explored the Centennial Ridges Trail, Track and Tower Trail, and Booth’s Rock Trail.

Centennial Ridges Trail

This trail is about 10 km and took us about 3 hours and 15 minutes. We did stop for a couple of breaks and of course to appreciate the view. It was a nice hike through a loop with forests, lookouts, and beautiful views.

Track and Tower Trail

The Track and Tower Trail is a 7.7 km loop. I did this hike on my solo trip as a day trip. It was great and allowed you to see lookouts, cliffs, rivers, and a dam. I would say this trail was an easy trail but still very scenic.

Booth’s Rock Trail

Booth’s Rock Trail is a 5.1 km loop that I found really beautiful. It took me about an hour and a half on a solo hike and had beautiful lookouts and unique forest trails. It has quite a bit of up and down in the middle to keep things interesting. The trail starts and ends at a parking lot right on Rock Lake which is perfect for a swim after a warm hike.

Of course, these are only brief explanations of three of the day hike trails at Algonquin but I look forward to trying out their other trails to explore the park further.
